RE: Not Another Crankcase Breather Oil Problem after all
Monday morning update. I tightened down the bolts on the lifter blocks and it appears to have worked, but I was only able to warm the bike up in the driveway, I haven't road tested it yet. Damn these storms. Each bolt needed about a quarter turn.

It's great when you find an easy fix, hope that was it. Sure saves a lot of wrenching if it is the solution. Unfortunately you lose the opportunity of tearing it all apart and gaining experience[sm=smiley20.gif]!

The good news is that during all of this, I found the high idle adjustment, so now I can let the bike warm up on its own instead of having to babysit the throttle constantly.
Now as soon as I get the turn signals to blink without holding down the button, I will have fixed all of the things the P.O. messed up.

On my 86, you to have to hold down the button to get the turn signal. My wife's 87 883 also. I don't know what year they went to the next one, which was a turn signal on/off switch where you push once to turn on and once to turn off. Then came the smart ones after that.
