Default Turn Signal Flasher?

I have an '87 flhtc, and the signal lights don't blink, the lamps are ok, it's just that if I push the button, they will not start blinking. I have to do it manually. Is there a flasher located somewhere? Like inside the fairing, maybe?
Thanks for any help.

I don;t know when they changed but on my 78 Shovel FXS Lowrider the button had to be held pushed in for as long as you wanted the lights to flash.

I own an '85 FLTC and the circuit flasher is located in the dashboard area under the speedometer/tachometer. Remove the two screws that hold the top of the dashboard, unscrew the speedo cable, disconnect the wire harness and the directional flasher(s) will be in your lap. Theflashers are not obsolete and still available from the dealer. Also, check the flasher "circuit breaker", wiring and ground for defects.

85's are going to be different as they have that different dash that's part of the fork/bars.

If you pull the headlight off (1 screw for the trim ring, then the screws around the bucket), you should be able to see the relays underneath the radio. You may have to pull the faring off to actually get to them. I don't know which one is the flasher offhand, but I'm going to guess it is one of those.

Your flasher unit took a dump on you. I don't know about your bike, bike my flasher unit was located under the seat...
