SE air cleaner
SE air cleaner vs. stock air cleaner setup....What's different? I just had the cam changed to the EV27 and the shop told me that the SE air cleaner would work very nicely with the new cam and that the improved air flow from the filter would really wake up the new cam. Would it be that noticable of a difference?
Is the packing plate basically the same and only the filter different?
Where's the best place to buy the SE air cleaner kit (if the complete kit is actually needed)?
Thanks in advance.

RE: SE air cleaner
You got your barries above your twig, you did a stage II before doing stage I? Of course the SE air cleaner will benefit you. Are you running stock mufflers too? Most likely you will have to rejet it after the SE aircleaner is installed. That cam, SE intake and good pipes should gain you 5 to 10 hp over stock, definitly feel it with the butt dyno.

RE: SE air cleaner
We'll I had a lifter go bad and had to change the cam/lifters. So, I figure I'd go with theEV27 while it was apart.
What is different about the SE air cleaner? Is it just a free flowing filter element? Or is the backing plate different as well? Where is the best place to buy the SE air cleaner?

RE: SE air cleaner
You could easily get a K&N filter element, thencut out the backing plate between the outside of the element and the edge of the housing. That basically what the SE air cleaner is. A roto zip tool or a dremel with a roto zip blade will make short work of it, but you could do it with a drill or a cutting wheel. Remove as much as you can without wrecking the structural integrity of the backing plate. If you have stock mufflers, get some better flowing ones and then re-jet and hang on. That's the cam I got in my bike too.
