Try upgrading your ignition/timing module. Dyna 2000i maybe.

When it won't start anymore, check for spark. If you have spark, then it's fuel. I suspect fuel. Is that an S&S on there? Pull the bowl off, remove the jets and clean them out really well, including the idle jet on top. If my S&S sits for a few months, the jets will clog up, even with Stabil in it.

If the carb checks out, then it sounds like an ignition module or perhaps the gas tank vent is blocked/plugged try opening the cap next time and see if that lets it start. If not, then when it's cold take the cover off of the nose cone and heat the module with a heat gun/hair dryer. If it wont start cold, then the module is bad. If it starts the try heating the coil to check that. Hope this helps

Nice ride-

You'll find some very nice and educated folks on here, with lot's of experience and wisdom to share, so ask away. I mostly lurk, but have learned a ton by doing that. Welcome aboard!

Spark looks good so I too am thinking this is a fuel issue...

Yes it is an SS super E... ripped that out and it was pretty dirty so the carb kit will be in tomorrow, I got her real nice and clean along with the petcock and fuel tank... it was pretty nasty in there too

hopefully this solves some issues and then I'll move on the the cold start problems

thanks for all the replies !!!

If the tank was nasty, don't forget a fuel filter to aleviate future peoblems.
