Default Need Help! Fuel fitting leaks

Ok....here's the deal.

I have a '97 Road King with the $hitty Magneti Marelli fuel injection system, and my low pressure return line is leaking at the swivel fitting. While I had the tank off, I put new o-rings on the top side of the fitting before screwing them back into the tank, but the return line appears to be leaking inside the swivel/quick connect itself. The manual and parts catalog both show the line and fitting as separate parts, but the two parts are listed under one part number that the dealer says is $178 and the manual doesn't tell you how to disconnect the fitting. I assume the o-ring inside the fitting is the culprit.

Is there any way to just pop this bitch apart and replace the o-ring, or am I screwed and have to pay $178 for a complete fuel line from tank to throttle body?

Help is greatly appreciated.

i had that problem on a 98 road king efi..could not separate..but my cost was a lot less for each hose high/low..maybe $50 each? and i thought that was alot.
part numbers 61470-95 (high) and 61471-95(low) .. i checked chicago HD web site and it looks like there was an update??? added an A to number
*the new part had the swivel and hose separated and i had to snap the two pieces together...the old would not separate....

finally two more things:
to make life easy you will need c-clip spreader tool to remove fitting at throttle body..about $10 or less at NAPA..i found tool after job was complete.. i used two dental picks and was able to get it off..
i did purchase and use two new c-clips (you can re-use old one if they do not fly away)
i also purchased a kit of o-rings..had a bunch..the number was 17043-95..i did not need it
...ONLY needed the o-rings for fuel fittings...i think there is a kit that brings the c-clip
and the two o-rings you need for each fitting at throttle body.

Thanks for the help. I needed one right away, and all of the dealerships close by had the updated part number in their computer systems, with the retail price of $179.31. I found one shop that still had the old part number, and luckily one of each in stock....I unfortunately had to pay full retail price of $105.XX but when you're in a pinch, bargains are hard to come by. Everything is back together and running fine. I think this is a terrible ****ing design though, and can't believe they charge so much for a part that is nearly guaranteed to fail some time down the road. Ugh.
