I know the brakes need to change, but will the shocks mount up properly. What about the geometry? I assume I would need to use a 1" axle.

It will fit a 1990....Don't know backwords to 87..........WOOPS!! see you are talking Softail, my reference is for a FLH

Yep it fits, just put one on a 1988 FXSTC. You have to use the evo era pivot bolt. Don't know about the shocks, used after market ones. Shouldn't need a 1 inch axle.
