Pjb,

I missed part of your message.
I need the air cleaner with the wide glide insert.
Exhaust system and mufflers.
The sissy bar and pad. I think mine is from a softail.
I don't need tanks, mine are original paint and decals.
Seat, pad, strap.
Maybe more stuff I'm not sure.

I have the complete original air cleaner, backing plate, chrome round cover with correct labels.
I also have the complete original exhaust system, crossover pipe, mufflers, all heat shields.
My original seat was redone, so probably not what you want.
I have the sissy bar, but the pad is one of Harleys plush button ones.
the early softails did not come stock with the sissy bar, but they were available as add ons.
I have original footpegs, turn signals, fork tubes, taillight/tag bracket, more.
I usually keep everything, but PM offers and I will consider.

thanks

from your list I am willing to part with:

air cleaner
sissy bar (has a Harley pad but NOT the original plain smooth type)
complete exhaust
all are in very good shape and are factory originals

PM offers

petewood70, I realise you're working on a 1985 model but I thought the 1986 H-D ad below may be of some interest. Eric

PJB,

Where are you located?

Do you have the original carb? I might want that also.

I'll send you a message with my email address.

Where does the choke mount to on an 85 fxwg?

What side is it on?

I'll stick my nose in. I have good legible schematics for the 85 if anyone needs them.

I commute with my 85. Ain't that cool?

its not on either side. the choke cable goes from the carb to the center of the dash, right above the ignition switch. where the dash hold down is.
