Default Valve seals

What are people using or like when it comes to valve stem seals? I see OEM which feel kind of hard, and after market "Viton" by say cometic or jims, etc. are more pliable?

Seems the softer more pliable ones with the tension spring would be better at sealing and longer lasting than the OEM ones?

While my top end is apart, just want to get the right ones. What do the guys who do this on a regular basis like to use? YD

I don't do this on a regular basis, but at around 95k I had to re-lap the seats -n-valves on my '86. With the valves out, I changed the seals with OEM. So long as they were new, and not NOS I was confident in putting the OEM valve seals in. I made sure they were not old. The original seals were fine, but I didn't want to chance losing sleep at night so every gasket from the engine halves up I changed. No leaks, or smoke 50k+ miles later, and still running. Peace of mind has no price tag. Good luck------------------------------RJ
