Trivia: Heat rang on NGK is opposite than other plugs. NGK is lower the # the hotter.... I run an 8, thats standard heat range for NGK. 7 would be hotter.

Pretty sure an 8 is a one step colder plug and 7 is the standard heat range.

I'm glad this post came back. It made me think of the issues I'm having with my shovel. On long rides of a couple hours or more on hot days (like when going upstate) my oil temp goes way up and pre-ignition is a real problem when starting off in first gear as well as long hills under load. Being still a little new to me (shovels that is) I'm gonna take a good look at my plugs and see if a change is necessary..

And yes the Higher the number the colder the plug or better at dicipating heat For NGK plugs.....

Spark plugs are as overthought as oil, they ignite fuel that’s it, gap them between .038 and .043 and you’re good.
