Default Tins - can anybody tell....

what year these may be off of?

I'm looking to swap the tins on my '96 FLHR and these look about right. So far (24 hours) the seller hasn't responded to my question about what year they came off.

Please do not refer to the sheetmetal on your motorcycle as "tins".

You sound like a Paul Jr. sycophant, and that's no compliment.

Just saying.

On Topic: You may be able to tell the year (or year range) by the side covers. My '96 EG Classic has a bolt that holds 'em down and those don't have that. Additionally, I'm guessing that the fuel tank is a carb type but it's impossible to tell without seeing the fuel bung(s).

The side covers are off a 97 or newer, the 96 had a bolt at the bottom, eveything but the side covers should be interchanable. chad.

My sidecovers have a bolt hole in the bottom for holding them in place as well the cover for over the oil tank has a hole at the top to fit over oil tank hole, so not for 89.
Try looking for those covers on bikebandit.

Doing a quick search that tank badge was used on 2002 RKs, so looks as if a PO has just had the stock metalwork etc custom lined.

I don't like the word 'tins' either, but that's just being British old chap!

Doesn't sound so bad, what else, Paint Set? Who really cares? Anyway, what are you doing with your takeoffs TINS? LOL... Specifically your tank? I'm looking for a RK or EG tank for my FXR..

Thanks guys

I'm hopefully going to be selling the whole set of TINS. I'm not too concerned about the side covers if I get them or not, but fenders, bags, tank, and the fender cover thing.
