rev tech/ultima el bruto/reman harley???
i've been struggling with the thought of what i should do concerning motors. i recently got an old 92 fxr and the motor is borderline scrap metal. now i can take the stock 80" evo to harley and for $2395 they'll ship it to harley and send me a new remanufactured motor in a couple of weeks. then i get to thinking, hmm, i can sell my evo for something and put that money into a brand new el bruto 114" or rev tech motor, or s&s, but for me the s&s is not affordable. it is, but i prefer to not break into my coffee can/bank. i did discover that ultima has their new 114 motor with the 4 1/4" bore X 4" stroke, and they claim that it is very usable because it reduces piston speed. okay guys, give me a direction through your experiences as to what i ought to do. thanks in advance.

Yup! S&S fan and owner here.
From his comments on previous threads John would probably buy an Ultima in bits, then carefully build it, sorting it out as he does. That way his customer will get a good motor, but it adds labour costs to mere punters like the rest of us! IMHO you CAN afford an S&S if you may want to buy a ready built motor and spend a lot of time in the saddle. Ultima have a good reputation for putting right things that go wrong with their motors, while S&S hardly ever get a mention on HDF. S&S have also been around for over 40 years.
I am an Ultima fan, good engine, great price and service, and I can buy any engine I want as we are a shop!! The engines make good HP and torque, plus the warranty is very good.

Check into these guys:

Read the build sheet on their motors and about their warranty.

I always thought the Demons Cycle 114" had potential. Can't find much feedback on it though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NATUR...item3cb6e8b7fc
