I've almost always used the EV-27 and, as others have said, I've had good luck with it in otherwise near-stock motors. Andrews uses a pretty aggressive ramp, so you're likely to hear some more valvetrain noise than you did before. A couple of weeks ago I was redoing another Evo 80-inch and decided to go with a Crane Fireball 310 just for kicks. The specs are close to the EV-27, and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. Good pull between about 1500 and 4K, and a good cam lope at idle...

Good luck!

I pulled an EV46 out of my bike and put in an EV27. The 46 made much more noise, and once I figured out that I had a vacuum leak fat my petcock that 27 runs very good.

Is your EV-27 in a 900 lb Bagger?

Nope. Just impressed with how it performs.

I have a 98 Road King with a K7N air filter, a fullsac true dual kit and a set of stock mufflers with the insides taken out. Of course it has EFI and has a very even idle. I really want a more potato rumble at idle if possible with EFI. I like what has been written about the EV 13 camshaft. I don't really want to do any other engine work right now as it is a relatively low mileage engine, 19K miles.

So with EFI and a cam change, not locked into the EV 13, but can I get a nice, older Harley rumble at idle with this type of cam change. I won't mind the extra power but am looking for nice potato idle too.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Russ

Probably not without setting the idle so low that you might cause harm to the engine and hurting off idle performance.

Impossible to get the Harley idle with the the twin runner plenom because of inability to crosstalk, I cut the plenom in half before the bend, removed the center divider and tigged it back together. MM EFI and the harley idle will show up but still not as good as a carb.

So with the advent of EFI in all the Harleys now, the sound that they are so famous for is almost gone on all their current bikes? That is so sad. I wonder if anyone makes a plenom like the one you made for your EFI bike? And then, would that and a cam get that old idle sound back, or does it take a carb to get that sound? I am not going to lower the idle any more. I have experimented with that part of it some, but it really doesn't make much difference in the idle sound. I know a pretty progressive cam can have big effects on the idle, but am not sure how the EFI would handle it. Especially since the EV cams only have a few mild cams available for the evo engine with EFI.

Thanks for the help though.
