Default The Little Engine that Could

Kinda ran into old school vs new technology, riding with my relatives new 103" Streetglide that has some mods and I tuned it in with the TTS mastertune and running pretty well. He got it broke in, started running it hard and of course I let the prepped little 89" Evo eat, not much of a match for the old technology Evo against the new technology Twinkee and my relative was both shocked at first and ashamed later as his big dog went back to the porch and was unaware of how good an Evo can run.

I know there are Twinkee big bikes that will pull wheelies past me in a street race but it's good for the soul knowing that a $23,000 Twinkee with some mods will struggle with the smaller cubed carburated tractor engine installed in the 90's and yes it makes my desire to ride an Evo even higher and it was a good day to own a Evo.

89" Evo is a stroked motor, and not so little anymore!

Twinkee, I can't stand that motor being called a twinkee.

but yeah evo's will run, and when stroked they run better. pull up to my 01' 95'' twincam in a fxdwg and I will hurt your feelings though.

Air cleaner says Road King 80 cubic inches!

If GSXRBOY is reading this, Woods cam is the difference maker, get yours out of the pond.

[QUOTE][QUOTE][QUOTE=Wild Card;8555632]Twinkee, I can't stand that motor being called a twinkee.

Twinkee, Twinkee, Twinkee

I thought 89 was the origin of engine year design.

He's having some fun! My 89" also said 80 on its cover. All part of the game!

Just so we're clear here...Stock EVO 1340 cc = 80 cubic inches.

89 cubic inch KIT was available aftermarket ( stroker flywheels ) which put out a whole bunch more torque...

What kind of dyno readings are you getting from your 89" stroker?

I never had mine dynoed. Heads were done as well, cam and higher CR, plus Crane ignition. I was told mid-upper 80s for both HP/TQ. Certainly went well!
