Question

Could the speedo / tach bracket pictured fit a '00-'02 touring HD?

That bracket looks similar to the correct one....but it is not.

The bracket you need is plastic and has two small holes that screws go through in the back of the guage. I wish I had a part-number for it...but I do not.

Those are the correct ones for sure. They are really kinda cheaply made by Harley.....but they do the job. Make sure you get the screws also. The screws from your 1999 model won't work...I found that out really quick you have to get the ones designed for the new guage/bracket.

A broken cable is easy to fix! You may get away with replacing just the inner, although probably better to replace the entire cable, especially on an older bike.

It may be possible to repair it, I'm sure I've seen details of somewhere that does that. I suggest you start a new post, as posting in an old one like this hides your query away from a lot of members.

There are a couple of speedo repair shops that can fix it for you. It's going to be a lot cheaper and easier than trying to swap it. My Factoid database says:

Factoid
http://www.scottspeedometer.com/ repairs HD speedos.

That was from 5 years ago. Hope they are still in business.
