wheel fit?

Lynn,
It will probably have 1" sealed bearings, whereas your bike currently has 3/4" tapered roller bearings. You can change the 1" bearings for 3/4" ones (they are interchangeable, but probably only available from a Harley dealer), which may leave you with a bit of shimming to do, if the wheel is not the same in width over the bearings.
That adds extra cost and a bit of messing around.

Will it bolt on?....no Can you make it fit?...yes If you change the bearings to 3/4 you will have to have a custom inner spacer made. Custom shimming a wheel with dual disc brakes and the wrong hub is interesting to say the least...I would say it is probably not worth the trouble....just get on ebay and find a wheel that fits.

Quite right! I now have a 2007 swingarm and rear wheel in my 1990, also a 2000 Deuce rear wheel I am planning to fit. That has bearing related challenges as well, but sometimes a man has to do what.....

By the way was there a reason why you changed to a 2007 swingarm other then you were bored?

The swingarm came about as part of my quest to improve ride quality. The later ones are much stiffer than our early Evos, so should provide better wheel control when hitting bumps. Then I discovered it would be easier to fit a later wheel and brake than mess about forward fitting my original ones, so the project grew somewhat. The cherry and icing on the cake (not much changes!) are my Ohlins shocks, custom built by Howard of Motorcycle Metal.
I can't tell if the change of swingarm did any good, but I feel virtuous about it. Just as well, as it is completely invisible to even the most knowledgable observer! The planned later wheel is just further meddling, because I have proved I can do such things.
If you have time on your hands, or it is pouring with rain one day, you could get a long drink and read all about it in my old threads about Suspension Thump and Swingarm Upgrade
