Default Best bike lift

I don't have a bike lift, and would like to get one to raise the bike for cleaning and maintance.

I need one that is somewhat compact, as I don't want to be tripping over it when it's not being used. I would also want one that lifts as high as possible.

Any good suggestions ????

J&S Jacks is a great compact lift. IMO. Lifts 18in. Very solid. Easy to use.

Are you looking for a jack or a table lift. I don't know about table lifts but I have to cast my vote for the J&S jack. I bought one and love it.

Personally, I love my cheap-*** Harbor Freight lift. It certainly ain't the "best" lift available but you'll have a hard time finding a better lift for $200.00. I actually bought mine last winter on sale for like $145.00. I like the forks vs. table because it makes changing & adjusting shocks and wheels a breeze. Makes scrubbing white walls easy too being that you can scrub & rotate the tire. I've had it for a year now and had the bike on it numerous times. Just a couple hours of shop labor cover the price of the lift. Can't beat it!

Now that is one cool looking jack. If I didn't already have one I liked I would look into this one.

Got this Craftsman off of Craig's list for $75 bucks and wouldn't be without out it.

That one Panhead has looks pretty good, is it stable when the bike is that high??

Watch harbour freight for sales, I got one just like Traildog's for 59.00, works really well and it's easy to tuck away somewhere....

If you are looking for the ultimate in strength and stability in a bike jack (not a full table lift, these are arguably the two best in order:

1. PitBull

2. J & S

It flexes whether it's high or low but I just use the tie downs that it comes with and feel plenty secure. I've even rolled under the bike on a dolly to change or adjust my shocks with complete confidence.

I like the Harbor freight lift. Not only for the low price, but it looks like it will lift the bike much higher.

Do the Harbor Freight lift "feet" fold up when not in use, or they fixed position feet?
