Default dialing 911, what did I just break?

Lubing the clutch cable, a little plastic clip think came out from under the lever.

It broke.

Can I ride without it? What is it for?

It is probably the "anti-rattle spring", it is flat with a slight curve or it could be the plastic pivot that connects the cable to the lever in there. You can ride without it, but the piece that is left may gouge the bracket and damage it. Hope this helps.

BINGO! Finally got a chance to sit down and look the part up. It is the anti rattle spring.

I guess I better start trying to find one.

And, the plastic flanged pieces that go on top and bottom of the pin that goes through the loop on the cable are shot too.

Cable is really "jerky" for some reason. Just got home with the oil and syringe.......gonna lube it in a few.

Thanks for the help guys! I'll stop being a pest one of these days.....

I'm willing to bet that everyone here at one time knew nothing about harleys and had to ask questions. It's your turn.
