How and where does the horn mount on a 94 fxrp. In the book it showsit underneath the side pannel but I cant figure out how to fit it in there and keep it out of the belt. please help.

 

Let's see if I can remember...

Here's my shot at it, I believe mine was under the bike on the left side below the panel, down by the oil filter.
If I'm wrong then I'm sure somebody will correct me.

On my 86 FXRS, the horn was mounted underneath the battery box....

 

It's also under the battery box on my '93 FXRS. It's a pain in the **** to get at. I can see it, and I can see that the tan wire is broken, which explains why it's silent when I push the horn button.

Sooner or later I gotta fix itto passstate safety inspection. Although I'm pretty sure once it's fixed, it will not be heard over the Cycle Shack M Pipes by anyone other than the inspector, and the rider.

Under the battery box
I was riding this last Saturday for a couple hours and was about a mile from home when the stangest noisestarted coming from my 92FXRS-SP. I thought it was the primary or clutch going out. The horn bracket broke and the horn fell on top of the belt, lucky I was almost home. I pulled the rear wheel and removed the horn(what a stupid place to put a horn) anyway I am going to relocate the horn.
