While filling up my parts basket for primary cover gaskets- it looks like the twin cam and evo primary covers are the same except for the 5 bolt derby cover and primary chain inspection cover.

Can I just bolt on a twin cam primary cover with no issues? I'd really like to see how a black crinkle cover works on this bike.

 

The 99 EVO has the 5 bolt derby cover also. Not sure if the Twin Cam will fit the EVO though. I would guess it would, but I would check further.

 

My friends '99 Street Glide has a different bolt pattern on his primary than mine ('95 Heritage).

 

The Cometic gasket set I bought is for 94-06 FXST, 94-05 FXD. Wonder why your 95 is different than the 99?

 

Touring bike and Softail....different primaries...

I replaced the primary cover on my 1998 FXDL with a primary cover that came off of a 2000 Super Glide. Of Course the derby cover had to be swapped as well going from 3 to 5 bolt hole. Everything bolted up just fine with no problems.

The reason I replaced was due to the original chrome was looking liking like crap. Plus I got a super deal on the 2000 primary cover I couldn't refuse.

Primary covers on other bikes...I have no idea
