Default fxdwg fuel sending unit gasket

I have this leak coming from the sending unit plate that will not go away.I removed the sending unit earlier in the year to fix the leak and couldn't get the unit out of the tank so I broke it into 3 pieces and saved the top plate to seal the tank.Harley no longer makes this gasket or the sending unit . so first I tried black rtv that lasted a week .Then I tried cork material like what it had originally it lasted the summer then it broke down to almost nothing a week ago.I tried some paper carb type gasket material and it didn't seal the tank.
I'm not sure what to try next.I was thinking of getting a sheet of buna-n rubber material or some viton but I hear that buna-n doesn't hold up well to ethanol gas and viton is highly resistant to it ,but a sheet of viton is also very expensive. Is there something else that works or is the viton my only option for a long lasting seal?

Got a part number? I am sure we can still get them here in NZ, its a coupla years since I bought one but they may still have stock here or in Australia, happy to send you one if it can be found. Other than that its the viton or try the really thick, graphited gasket paper.

I have the parts catalog for all '93-'94 harley models and It doesn't show or list anything about a gasket or sending unit being in the tank.I guess I will have to make one out of viton. Thanks

If your looking for material to make a gasket , i would stop by any auto. dealership service dept. and describe your application and previous tries etc.
They will stock the latest and greatest in ethenol proof material that is currently available.

Thanks alot.I didn't know the part got revised to 75062-90A from 75062-90
thats the reason why I couldn't find one online I was going by the # on the sending unit plate. Now I can get a new unit and get my gas gauge working again and seal the tank.
