Turn signal help needed
I have a 1988 FLHTC. She's a fine machine. Everything works but, one thing. The turn signals wont stay on when the button(s) are released. Is this part of the relay? My service book says that the relay or module or whatever is mounted to the fork under the fairing and can be accessed behind the headlight. I can see the forks and don't see relay the first?
Is the self canceling function part of the relay it's self? It's a shade hard to drive, work levers and hold the turn signal button.

The stock flasher unit is a large black module, bigger than a packet of cigarettes, attached to the right-hand fork leg between the trees using zip ties. However your bike has been around long enough for a previous owner to have junked it. I replaced mine several years ago and it was darned expensive!
We had a recent thread on this same subject, where I believe a Badlands module was mentioned as an alternative. This thread is one that may help.

Well, if it was designed that way I might just decide that I don't care and leave it the way it is. Or cut that green and white wire. That sounds pretty good.

The white/green wire has a plastic connector a few inches from the instrument cluster, which you just need to pull apart. Each end of the wire is insulated, so they are safe to leave lying where they land.
