Default evo with a kickstart question

so i have a 1985 harley evo with a 5 speed trans and a kickstart. the kickstart hits my leg and i have a few times bumped it with the engine running. is there a kit to eliminate the kick start?

I would guess you need a replacement outer cover. Once the kicker and cover are removed what is left of the mechanism inside will be fine. If you go to Ronnies HD website they have microfiche where you can see the parts for your model year. A little time spent studying them should identify the parts you need. It is far more likely there is a kit for installing a kicker, less likely for removing it! Have you looked on Ebay?

Got a pic? There were no factory 5 speed kick starts...so if that is what you have it is aftermarket...there were factory 4 speed kick starts in 85...post a pic and I will tell you what you need to eliminate it....you will get used to it...I like mine...helps me keep my leg off the exhaust.

Thumbs up

Sounds like recovering from your surgery is more important at present! As therapy you can take a photo of the trans for us later, but take it easy for now.
