Default Oil pouring from crankcase breather.help!

This is a drag!
Engine rebuilt and runs strong on my 1987 FLHTC. Pulled in my driveway a short time ago and a trail of oil behind me. I placed a drain pan under the breather line and oil Pours out the crankcase breather via KN breather filter.
The oil tank is almost empty, each time I start it up thirty seconds later its puking again!

By the way it's a Sifton oil pump. Any advice from the Pros?

Thanks
Mark

Ditto blueharley , or possibly mismatched oil lines.?
Has it done this only after the rebuild ???

If the return and vent lines are reversed it will puke till the vent gets air.

The engine was rebuilt before I purchased, but I know the builder and that was over 500 miles ago. As stated above the bike runs strong.

Couple of questions..

The oil tank is now empty, is there any kind of trip valve or check valve in the oil pump that could be faulty or reset? I am not a wrench or engineer, so please accept these novice questions. I can do a decent job of a parts replacer.

Can over filling the oil tank create this issue?

I switched from 20 w 50 to 50 weight just before this incident, any issues there?

Thanks

Over filling the oil tank will force oil out the breather. I had a problem where oil was getting sucked out the primary into the crank. The tank would get to the fill line, and from there it would just pour out the breather.

Bluharley,
The tank now appears to be empty...refill with two or three quarts and try again..? Just hate to waste the oil, but I may have over filled, and yes my eyes do have 60k on the clock!

Mine would just puke when it went above the fill line. you have a different issue. Did the last guy ride it 500 miles without any problem?
