Woodds vs Zippers Who is running what?
I have a tough choice to make and I only want to do this once. So here are my specs
127 smw 10-2:1 compression with comp releases.ultima 6 spd trans . 2 into 1 patriot defender The motor is in a 96 electra glide / street glide. I usually ride solo. I ride it hard but dont usually rev past 5k I want huge torque and I want it early. Bob Woods says W6hf
with my compression zippers and John Sachs say Red Shift 656. Any one else running either of these cams?. I would like to know how they perform do they run hot, were does the power come in RPM wise and what are some realistic # TQ / HP. Thank you for you time.

Brad where is around here?? You should add your location, sometimes when you need help a knowledgeable member may live near and be willing to help!!!!! If you have a smart phone look for a free app called "pure gas" it will locate the nearest gas station that has ethanol free gas and what grades are available. it even has a mapping feature that will guide you to it. On your computer search for ethanol-free gas which is from PG I believe. Always try to get your gas from a station that has a hose for each grade of gas. That way you don't get the first gallon or so of what was pumped last (usually regular) which will dilute the octane down even farther. Hope this helps.
John
P.S. with the Ultima six speed you can drop the front drive sprocket down one tooth so that you have a little more "grunt"!!

I ran a S&S 561 for about 3 months before switching to RedShift. Nice smooth bands, no dips, on my dyno runs. TQ comes on 2500 rpm up to 4600.
HP comes on 2700 up to 5900 rpm. First time twisting the wick to the stop, it was alive. lol
Gas, heh, I run 92 pump, but treat it with Torco Accelerator to get the octane up to 95ish. Runs great. Real gas is about 55 miles one way. All the mods
were done 13 miles from dealer new. Just service it and never any problems here.

Have you looked at the Wood Performance dyno page ? Might have to search the various builds to see if you can find the cam.
I have a Wood hi flow CV kit and it works great on my 80" and at one time I had 92 ft tq.

the W6hf is a 650 lift and its on the "custom grinds" page but I cant seem to find any dyno's or anyone who has used it on a 127ci. Bob woods says"throw it in but you better be sure yr holdin on" ramps very similar to the 9B and 9F cams that put the 127 at 150ft pounds tq.. But still dont know the cruising attitude of that cam or the start ups, or running temps....

brad, i have a bit of experience with this cam via a friend and fellow forum member and Mr. Wood ain't lying if not upselling a little bit. it is a hold onto your hat cam. from the simple hi-lift it ain't bolt in. stump-pulling power comes at a price, your cash and your labor.
lemme see if i can get some of the brain trust to answer your questions.
