Default what size tires is everyone running on there fxr's

I just got this 93 fxr and am fixing it up and making it safe to ride.it has 9 spoke mags and 100-90-19 front with mt90-16 rear.was thinking about buying the pirreli night dragons in 100-90-19 and mu85b16 rear.anyone have any problems with mu85b16 rubbing (fender, belt or belt gaurd?)I am mostly concerned with it rubbing the belt gaurd.

mu85b16 is a 140/90-16. Should be fine if its chain drive and a very tight squeeze with a belt...I wouldn't risk it personally.

A 140/90 just went in on my 1990 Glide, by the skin of its teeth. I had 3/16" clearance between tyre and belt and used an allen key as a feeler, to set rear wheel alignment! A 150/80 will fit the wheel, but won't go in with the stock wide belt. Been there.....

I ran a 140/90-16 Venom on my FXR for years with a belt. Proper wheel alignment is a must. Worst case scenario is you'll have to add a small specter behind your pulley. You can buy them in multiple thickness , and the belt typically has room to move on the trans pulley.

I have a 159/80-16 cobra now , and on the stock wheel actually measures 160. It fits , but there is NO room for alignment error.

Man i was really hoping to run the mu85 on the rear but dont want to have issues with the stock belt set up.guess i will have to stick with the 130/90/16.

You can't squeeze a quart into a pint pot, but you can just get an MU in. What are you uncertain about?

Not sure if this is relevant but I have been running a MU tire on my FLSTC for years now.
No special accommodations.

FWIW I'm going back to a MT the next time I need a tire because it will give me a little bit more room when taking off the rear wheel.

IMO 10 millimeters isn't enough to really worry about.

True, but the extra load rating is worth having, when riding close to the bike's max weight limit.

yea i had a mu85 on my heritage softail but thats a totally different animal.I just know that right now with the mt90(same as a 130/90) I only have about 1/8" between the lower belt gaurd and the tire.sp mu85 most likely will rub. That sucks..I dont want to order tires that wont work.

Clearance the lower gaurd a little and you'll be extra good
