Default Biketronics radio help

Well I installed my biketronics Sony radio today and can't get it to work. It came with the correct pigtail wiring harness. I installed the radio and plugged in the two pigtail connectors per the instructions and the radio will not turn on. It's getting power to the back of the radio according to my tester light, but the radio will not turn on. I unplugged the new radio and plugged in the old original radio and it came right on. I'm guessing the Biketronics wiring harness may be defective. Does anyone know of anything simple that I may be missing. Really needed the bike back together for the weekend, but not gonna happen I guess.

Biketronics customer service is very good.

Put your bike back together and ride. Fix it next week.

This is definetly a great upgrade to anyone out there with an older bagger with the stock stereo. What a difference! Wish I had installed it years ago. I went ahead and replaced the original speakers "while I was in there" ha.

Just read this thread. I have a '94 bagger and installed a Sony with all the Biketronics Stuff. It took a while before I swapped out the fuse as per instructions. Fried the 1st fuse. I installed a 600 watt amp and satellite radio in the tour pack.

Yep, the instructions called for a 10 amp and all I had was a 15. I installed the 15 and couldn't get any power to the face of the radio. Picked up a 10 amp the next day and installed it and everything works like it should. I only stuck the 15 in just to see if the radio worked, but it wouldn't. I'm guessing these new radios have a built in safety system that prevents power to the unit if you're using an oversize fuse.

Mine is 1992 Ultra Classic. Would yours works for me and if I can control it with my audio controller on the handlebar?

I did. In fact, I called and spoke with Kathy. She mentioned about BT1006 and a separate conversion kit ($39.00) for my 1992 Ultra. That was confuses me. I thought I just need a RetroRadio kit to do the job. So that's why I'm trying to see if this is also the case with the OP.
