It's always the simple things.

While riding down a "road less traveled" here in North Florida scouting out launch points for my Kayak, I started hearing this terrible squealing/rattling noise that didn't seem to want to go away. I stopped once and looked around, shook and rattled things and couldn't seem to figure out what it was. Considering that I was already 3 or so miles down a dirt road that doesn't get that much traffic to begin with, I figured I would just go ahead to the end of it to see if there might be anyone there. Before I got to the end of it I had to stop again and look, so I shut the bike off and and there it was... my damn brake pedal had rattled loose.

Harley's aint so unreliable after all. Sure can drive you nuts though... oh yeah, I found the launch point.

Nice! I've only had my kayak out twice this year, I got no excuses.

Dude you ride a Haley. That means vibrations. That means you have to take the time once in a while to make sure nothing has rattled loose.

Basically you are complaining that you didn't do your preventative maintenance and something went wrong.

Yyyyeeeeeaaahhhh no. The brake lever on the forwards of a Dyna are a "tension" operated system and can feel tight and five minutes later rattle loose. You cant keep the screw locked down. It is a stupid design.

Now back to reality.

In case you were wondering how I actually carry it. I have the bed extender wrapped in foam and keep a foam pad under if when I'm hauling it.
