Hello guys, hopefully someone can give me some insight.
I just got done building my evo up, and put a new starter in it. After getting it back the first time, I had stripped the pinion shaft, but didnt think anything of it. Then I had the shaft replaced and clutch gear, now its stripped again.
My compression on the engine is only 10.5 to 1, and I have a 1.4kw starter, nothing radical. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get the starting system reliable???
Got it to the shhp, we are going tohave to go w compression relasers. So anyone thinking of going up in compression, just get them anyway to save yourself a ton of time, and a ton of money in broken starter parts.
Hopefully this will save someone else.
Other than that it runs like a completly different bike, Im very happy with it.

As I said................ been there, done that, and mine's only at 9.8:1Your advice to "Do it now anyway" is a good one.
