fat boy wheel...front or back?

Hi...I have a 99 fatboy an want to get stock wheels for it..I got a deal on a used wheel....about $50 shipped off ebay...he said it's a front but I want to be sure before looking for the other one. The seller thinks it's a front. I may put a 150 on the rear when I do the change.

Looks like a rear to me, fat boys have single discs, therefore single sided hubs

I was thinking that too that's why I want to double check. is that a sealed 3/4 bearing? don't know if the 2000 up was machined differently.

That is a front wheel.

:icon_that:The fronts were machined to mount a rotor on either side and the unused side was "capped" off with the little cover and five button head screws.

It is also a later wheel with a sealed ball-race, not tapered rollers. Should fit, although you will have to check and possibly adjust the lengths of your axle spacers. It's been done before and hopefully someone will chime in with details.

Thanks for the conformation. I have aftermarket spoke wheels now so I'm not expecting the spacers to be right. I just don't like the spokes on a fatboy for my bike...also, I hate cleaning spokes.

I know they look similar, that is why I went out and looked at my old Softail to confirm it was a front wheel...
