A question about LED turn signals

A friend of mine gave me a pair of LED front turn signals. I would like to install them on my bike. My question is do I need a load equalizer? I'm still running regular bulbs in the rear turn signals.
Thanks, Todd

You will need something.
Most people who go with the LED's end up installing the badlands flasher module.

I think I read that Doc Hess just wired in a couple resistors.

You should not need a load equalizer since you are still running the regular bulbs in the rear.

You may get away by just fitting them - give them a try. As Kevin says, while you still have a normal bulb on each side of the system your flasher unit should continue working.

I didn't use resistors. I replaced the blinker with a solid state one that supports LED's. On the bikes with the smart module, you can't really do that.

I would try the LED's in the front, as long as you still have the back with regular bulbs, it might work.

Did this awhile back. They still worked but the blinks became a bit faster.

I ended up going all leds with a different flasher

Trying it won't hurt a thing. I'm ruining LED on the rear and 194 bulbs on the front and it works fine.... Maybe the 98 module is a little different but the numbers seem to match for many years...
