A question about LED turn signals
A friend of mine gave me a pair of LED front turn signals. I would like to install them on my bike. My question is do I need a load equalizer? I'm still running regular bulbs in the rear turn signals.
Thanks, Todd |
You will need something.
Most people who go with the LED's end up installing the badlands flasher module. I think I read that Doc Hess just wired in a couple resistors. |

You may get away by just fitting them - give them a try. As Kevin says, while you still have a normal bulb on each side of the system your flasher unit should continue working.

I didn't use resistors. I replaced the blinker with a solid state one that supports LED's. On the bikes with the smart module, you can't really do that.
I would try the LED's in the front, as long as you still have the back with regular bulbs, it might work. |
Did this awhile back. They still worked but the blinks became a bit faster.
I ended up going all leds with a different flasher WP |
Trying it won't hurt a thing. I'm ruining LED on the rear and 194 bulbs on the front and it works fine.... Maybe the 98 module is a little different but the numbers seem to match for many years...
