1999 Fatboy: I'm lost for The First Time on what to do
 

Went to Daytona this year (2019) to have Baker install a New OD6 Trans.

On the way home in the middle of the Night Speedo stopped working. You can turn off the Ignition on the Dash and the SpeedO's Light turns off, Turn it on, it lights up, goes through it's little routine but that's it. Also there's No Codes logged in the SpeedO. The Needle doesn't move at all and no new Miles are recorded. Clearing the Trip works but No New Miles are logged on the Trip meter.

So I checked all the Wires for Continuity and they were fine.
Then I checked the Voltage Reg and Stator and they are fine
I decided to replaced the 20 year old VSS with a New one, That didn't Fix it,
Then I replaced the 20 year old Turn Signal Canceler and that didn't fix it.
So as a last resort I bought a New SpeedO and that didn't Fix it.
I even Dielectric all Connections on the Bike and that didn't Fix it.
The Bike runs great with out the SpeedO but we all know that's not good.

I'm completely Lost on this one.

Any Ideas?

Since you've tried everything, maybe it's something in the trans. There's a gear that drives the speedo sensor, I'd start there.

Maybe a long shot but does your speedo work on a different bike?

Not sure what a VSS is but have you pulled the speed sensor and cleaned it?

I'd be calling Baker on Monday and see what they think.

The closest to your bike I'm familiar with is the speedo drive on my 97 Sportster. Pretty simple setup. But since yours is brand new, I'd start there. It sounds like your speedo isn't getting any pulses from the trans. Double check that the electrical connection coming out of the trans is tight. Maybe the new sensor is just a dud?

Baker OD6 uses a VSS sensor in the trap door and the oem VSS hole will have a cover over it because the OD6 has a smaller gear at the OEM hole to read from. The gear a OD6 VSS reads from has wider teeth sending less pulses meaning the speedometer won't be accurate around 10 MPH - 15 mph slow. If your speedometer was accurate before failing Baker installed a speedometer calibration module inline on the speedometer wiring, it may have come unplugged or failed.
There is also a 12v power source in the VSS wiring sent to the sensor, harness has a 12v positive, ground and signal out of the sensor. You can leave the 3 pin wire connection going into the speedometer plugged in, slip small paper clips thru the sealing rubbers on the back side of the connectors touching the terminals and reading a 12v source, ground and resistance on the signal wire, should be able to do a ohm reading on the signal wire but don't know if the live signal is going to be in volts, small amps or ground pulse

Thanks Everyone for your Help, You Jogged my mind and made me dig deeper.

I figured it out. My 1991 Harley FXLR's Baker OD6 was installed by me and it doesn't have the New SpeedO Sensor. So I grabbed the install Instructions Baker Included,

The Baker Mechanic didn't move the SpeedO Sensor to the New Position on the OD6 Door. It took me 20 minutes to fix. Then I had to use the Baker 95E-56B SpeedO Tool to recalibrate the Speedometers Speed.

It like to have drove me Crazy.

This Fatboy Fly's Now. At 89 MPH the Tach say's 2,900 RPMS. the Sweet Spot is 3,200 RPM's.
