But the box said "heavy duty cast iron"...

Seriously though, looking at the 7" Capri forged steel vise right now. Forged don't crack like a casting would, and I could weld the repairs if needed. The Wilton Bullet is a bit too rich for my blood.

I know 2 guys that went this route. They both are very happy and have had no issues with their's in over a year. Worked great right out of the box. If I couldn't do mine myself, I would give them a shot.

Sent my CV to Killer carbs for a rebuild. Came back beautifully blasted clean and slide and throat polished and jetted to my engine mods. Ran great but was very rich, I backed down a couple sizes on the both jets and all good now.

I would imagine he sends them out a bit on the rich side to cover his butt. Imagine him sending back your carb, you put it on and proceed to melt a piston.

So aside from making your CV Carb look pretty, you had to make modifications to it when it came back, change the jets that had supposedly been fitted to your engine mods. Doesn't sound like a very good option to me I'm afraid.

The chances of buying a different type carb dialed in exactly are pretty slim, wouldn't you need to do that as well while spending a lot more for a new set up vs a rebuild ? I'm not following the logic.

My CV carb from Killer was perfect. After two months I tweaked the idle speed.

/Sarcasm_on/ I like the brand name of the carb on Amazon.....Zoom..... /Sarcasm_off/

Sounds like quality to me. Sounds like you have old seals and a leaky needle. Take the $99 you were going to spend, buy a new CV Performance slide and needle and get rebuild kit. Clean and rebuild what you have and give it a shot. You will have spent about the same amount of money and will have a much better chance of getting a carb that will actually works. If it doesn't you are out about the same money as that Knockoff.
