Default Oil coolers. Let's see them

I live in New England but after a cam change, I'm probably going to plumb my 87 Evo for an oil cooler. For those that have them, how are they mounted? High or low? Horizontal or vertical? Thermostat or not? Old or new?

I have a Ultra Fan Assisted Oil Cooler on my Road King. It's mounted low on the front of the frame. it sticks out pretty far so I don't think that you could mount it any higher without it being hit by the fender.
