Default wheres the oil going?

hey all. i noticed tonight that my oil was low. maybe 1/2 quart. ive rode about 1500 miles since i changed. new to this bike. its a 92 Eglide. 45000 miles now. there is no smoking that i can see, and compression test was just over 150 on both cylinders. does this sound normal? also any one know what years the shitty lifters were used? im hearing valve train noise. my adjustable rods are set as per instructions for the SE rods. 2 1/2 turns. when were the good lifters used and what year would i ask for at the shop for my 92. any advice would be great.

When I had my Evo that also had 45k on it, I would loose about a quart or so about every 3000 miles, so that sounds about right. Did you check the oil when it was hot? The way you ride and the temperature outside have a lot to do with it. A half a quart around 1500 miles on an EVO sounds normal to me. Top it off and ride it! As far as the valve train noise, not sure about that. My EVO was much louder then my Twin Camm when riding, Are you sure it is coming from the valve train?

First check your primary to ensure that the oil isn't migrating past the crank seal and into it. If it isn't then you are either leaking or using/burning oil. When did you start using oil? What was done prior to the oil consumption? You state that you have adjustable pushrods, from that I take it you also have an aftermarket cam, which one? How are you adjusting your valves??

andrews 27. adjusting with piston at TDC on compression stroke. 2 1/2 turns as per screamin eagle instructions. oil in primary is good. no extra.
