What leads you to believe you have a stroked or modified motor? Seller give you a line of BS? Just askin. Maybe I misread your post. The only real way to know is to tear it apart and take measurements.

The way I read it you are looking to stroke your motor.
In my humble opinion if you want a bigger motor buy one that was built that way and it will last you a lot longer.
What is the difference between a stroked motor and a purpose built motor of equivalent size?
My 89" stroker is the original motor stripped and rebuilt with different flywheels, that give the longer stroke, plus a stack of other tuning mods, such as Sportster high comp pistons, ported heads, new cam.
A purpose built motor will most likely have a larger bore, not a longer stroke, to get the extra inches. There is no certainty it will be as highly tuned as a custom-built stroker.
Long stroke equals high torque and a very long-legged motor...downside is high piston speed and oil consumption.....but I would seriously consider one if and when my 98 needs a full rebuild.
Spanner, what would you expect in terms of oil consumption? I'm considering the Jims Stroker kit for my '93 FXRS. Would you expect the same oil consumption from a stroked motor like the Ultimas or S&S?
