That's because, as I mentioned, the torque curve for Twinkies is "pointier" and shifted towards the higher rpm, hence the better feel of Evo (and, let's be honest, even better feel of Shovel)

Absofckenlutely! I still regret I've rented that Heritage in Vegas, as opposed to a RK

great price was first reason i bought 98 wide glide 5 years ago, also, heard bad stuff about random engine failure due to cam chain tensioners in tc. no cam chains in evo. like the comment earlier , poor man's pan head.

Yeah, all the Twinkie owners will be talking about the new "Wet Head." The new water cooled engine that Harley has applied a patent for, but we'll all still be here lovin our EVO's and livin the simple life.

Default Why I own an Evo.....

Bright Ruby Red 1991 FLHS, 17,000 original miles, and only $4000. Who could resist something like that? Paid cash for it, so it's all mine.

I had to readjust my riding style to the old ways, as it was a far cry from my 2008 Anniversary Special FLHTCU, and even farther from my 2011 ElectraGlde Limited with the 103 CI Twinkie. I totaled the 2011 in a freak accident (I walked away pretty much unhurt after bouncing down the road for 250 feet) and due to impending cutbacks at work, didn't want to enter into another long term payment deal.

And that is why I ride an Evo. I really miss the performance and handling of my 2011, especially the ABS brakes, but if I really need to ride aggressive, I just climb on my 1995 BMW R1100RS that I now have over 100,000 miles on, and it can take more than I can dish out!

Bought my first Harley brand new in 1976, yep AMF, and had a great 1956 hardtail Panhead for many years (hands down my favorite bike) and a few other Harley's and an Indian Chief. Also rode various German, Italian, Brit, and Japanese bikes (my first bike I bought in 1965 was Japanese).

That pretty much sums up my riding career, probably over 500,000 miles on 2 wheels.

Picked up an EVO because it is as easy to work on as my pans and shovel....and it seems they are good strong runners

I love my '85 FXR EVO, simple and fast. Newr TCs with things like "Parade Mode" to shut down a cylinder during hot weather riding....too much crap
