Now don't get me wrong....
I have no hidden agenda for asking this question other than I had a conversation with somebody who is very politically correct and a feminist activist...its one of the hazards of my day job and she was ranting on about Harley Riders being nothing short of White Supremacists :icon_doh:
I pointed out to her that in NZ there are a lot of Maori riding Harleys (Maori are brown people, the indigenous population of NZ) and that many of our Motorcycle Gang members....Ooops! Sorry...I mean CLUB members :icon_wink: are Maori. Well after she nearly choked on her rice crackers with tofu and baked hibiscus bush she countered that "You don't see Black people....(actually she said "African-American Minorities")....riding Harleys and they wouldn't be made welcome if they did". Well after I left the building to go damage some things in frustration I started wondering....how many of y'all encounter black dudes riding Harleys? Do they stick to their own crowd or do they ride with white guys? (even though we can't dance). Many years ago I took my mate Abraham (a black dude) and taught him how to climb mountains....in about 10 ten trips we did together we only ever met one other black person on the hill and they were both so shocked to see each other that they nearly fell off the mountain and didn't speak to each other. So, what's the go in the USA??? DEAR MODERATORS, PLEASE DON'T MOVE THIS POST TO ANOTHER FORUM AS I ONLY CARE WHAT PEOPLE IN THIS FORUM THINK..... :-) |
I don't see many out there, if I do I just give em a nod like everyone else. For some reason I really don't think they like riding, not that they would be treated differently.

While I can't speak for everyone here, I can provide my own experiences. My GF's mom was the ol' lady of the VP of a 1%-er bike "club" local chapter, and I would ride with them from time to time. While most in the local chapter were white, there were a couple of black guys, and most of the other chapters were predominately black. I rode with them to their national meeting and white guys were the minority easily.
While it seems to be a little less likely to see a black guy on an HD (especially here in the south), I wouldn't call it "rare". In my experience, they are treated no differently because of their skin color. Just my .02 |
I see blacks riding Harleys almost every weekend. They pretty much ride with other blacks but I do see blacks and whites riding as a group on occasion. As a side note...I see mixed groups on crotch rockets even more frequently.

I have no clue as to how it is in NZ (but I hope to visit there someday), but if someone said something like that around here, everyone around would erupt in laughter.

I live in deepest Dixie. There are many black harley riders around here but more rice burners. I dont know of any color rules and we treat each other with respect. The last Harley dealership ride was about 1/3 black. Some patch clubs, some not. People can have their rathers without having hate.

I am gonna print this thread off and stuff it down her throat :icon_wink: :icon_bike:

She is a brain dead lib. The real problem with the world today.

To be honest I've never thought about it before.
There are many black Harley riders here and I never gave it a second thought. The female is a classic example of a lib. Bitching about a problem that doesn't really exist!!! |
