cam and lifters 1984 evo.
looking for a cam and lifter kit and bearing for a 1984 early evo. it is a evo....
|
stock ? or upgrade
|
Have you tried Andrews cams ? they should have the parts your looking for & welcome to the EVO section
|
I'm not sure there is a kit, as such, but all the parts are widely available. Andrews are very popular as far as cams are concerned, there is even a current thread about the EV27, where you will probably find what you need to know.

I'm not aware of any "kit" cam and lifter set. But when I did the cam in my '93 Ultra, the bearing came with the cam.(Ev-27). I reused the lifters as they only had 1k miles on them. But in an older bike, I'd change them.. Lots of choices out there, try Ebay to get a feel for what there selling for.,,

JIM'S makes very nice lifter kits, I've used em in the past and had excellent results
|
If you do a little searchin' on the ol' interweb you'll probably find the individual components cheaper than buying a "kit".
I paid about 80 bucks for my vthunder cam (spankin' new), and about $130 for my Johnson lifters (also new). Then a new Torrington cam bearing, some quality gaskets and your set. You can reuse your stock pushrods (I prefer this approach anyway). Good luck and welcome! :D |
Be careful of those thrown together kits, often times the lifters are junk.
Don`b buy aftermarket lifters unless they are a well known quality brand. Harley OEM lifters work fine. |
