Default Vance & Hines pro-pipe and compition baffles

anyone have the Vance & Hines pro-pipe with the compition baffles, is it louder? any noticeable difference in performance? Vance & Hines said I'd lose 3 or 4 horse on the low end and gain some on the top end. Or has anyone used the reguler baffles and just removed the end plug to make it flow straight through. I'm getting a little discoloration and though I might make it run a little cooler. discoloration is a real light gold nothing to serious I can polish it out but itjust sort ofpi**es me off!
Thanks
Sheldon

Sheldon...The Comp baffle will drop power where you ride all day long, between 2500 and 3500rpm. The standard baffle will do more than fine all the way through the rmp range without anh mods. Are you getting the gold color in the collector? If so it's coming from fuel burning in the collector....a rich condition will cause this.
