Default Need help, questions about exhaust system

Hello All,
I am new to this site and I have done lots of research however cannot seem to find out an answer to a question I have had. Forgive me if this is rudimentary to some of you but I bought my first bike last year, a 2004 Heritage Softail Classic, which is outfitted with a dual exhaust system with the crossover pipe. I want to upgrade to a different system but am not sure if it is possible to put slip-ons on this kind of set-up or if I have to upgrade the entire system altogether? Also, any recommendations as to what brand and model would be appreciated. I have heard that Vance and Hines and Rineharts are good options. Thank you for reading!!

Brandon
(can post pictures if needed to help with the question)

When you say "Dual Exhaust" do you mean two pipes independent of each other, except for a crossover tube and both pipes end on the same side of the bike OR do the two pipes end with one on each side of the bike?

There are two pipes on either side of the tire and there is a crossover pipe. The left side of the bike, the pipe starts at the crossover pipe and goes back, the right side starts from the front of the engine block and goes back and the crossover pipe connects into it.

Every time I try to post the pics it says a moderator has to approve them... Is there a way around this?

I don't know but all I do to post a pic is "go advanced", then click the little paper clip (attachment) up there on the bar, Browse for a pic on my drive then click "upload". Thats been working for me.
