Default D&D FatCat Question

I have a new Low Rider with SE Heavy Breather and FatCat exhaust, with dealer download. My bike pops and backfires through the exhaust when I'm accelerating and upshifting. Usually between 1 and 2, 2 and 3,. It doesn't backfire on decel at all, just burbles a little. But when mildly accelerating, I pull in the clutch and 2 or 3 out of 10 times I get a backfire. My question is....is this normal for a 2 into 1 pipe? A FatCat pipe? Bike seems to run fine other than this, and the plugs look good(light tan). Am I too lean, too rich, normal for this pipe?

Can`t answer your question but how did you get a Fat Cat to fit with the further forward mid controls?

Take it back to the Dealer and have them tweek their tune a little to get rid of the popping.

It's not the pipe. Bike NEEDS a tune.

I have had a Fat Cat on my 2005 SE Fat Boy for several years. I started off with the regular baffle and switched to the quiet baffle after about 2-1/2 years. Bike runs and sounds perfect. No popping, etc.

A dealer download can be many things. 1 thing it won't be for is a 2-1 D&D Fat Cat exhaust. You can go many directions but probably the most cost effective will be the DJ PowerVision. If you get it from FuelMoto you will get a map pre installed that will be close. Then you can do some data collection and modify that map to get you closer. Or get it dynotuned and be done with it.

The Dealer will throw some crap environmentally friendly "can" tune - spend a few $$ and get a Power Vision from Fuel Moto & get a tune that will be so much better
