Default Mikuni HSR42 installed

Installed the HSR42 yesterday. All I can say is 'WOW'! Night and day difference between the smoothbore and the CV. I like the instant throttle response the smoothbore provides. The bike pulls hard, feels more powerful but that's probably my imagination.

Only drawback to the HSR is the slide rattle. Took me a few miles to figure out this new rattle over the ones that I already have from the front fender and springs.

I was about to re-install mine last night, and then I found out I was missing head gaskets from my kit. Back to the bench it goes.

Hey...I found a fix to make it so you don't hear that rattle. Don't idle...keep movin'!

Did my swap to the Mikunilast summer. And like you I was
very pleased with the results. Don't worry about the rattle.
You'll get to the point we're you won't even notice it anymore.

Mikey,

You may want to install the optional parts that came with the HSR42 kit, and move the needle clip from the #3 to the #2 position. At least 5 mpg better mileage, with no loss of performance (on my 2000 FLHTC)

Barry,
For my 80ci Evo motor I used the 25 pilot, 160 main, 70 accelerator pump nozzle and did not touch the c-clipon the needle.
After a few plug checks should determine if I need to change the main, but so far I'm very impressed with the results.

I'm running modified Screaming Eagle slips-ons. The original SE's.
