Default cat removal

I have Reinhart 4 inch slip ons. I'm going to upgrade to a high flow AC. Than do a tune. Is it worth the effort to remove the catalytic converter before doing the tune? Or is there really no value in the removal? Thanks for your suggestions. Later

If you don't remove the cat before the tune session, you'll have to re-tune the bike again after you remove it.

It will definitely be louder w/o the Cat. If you do a V&H FP3, you can auto tune anytime you make changes w/o dealer involvement.
I had the Cat removed on my 2014 but this time I'm leaving it in on the 2017 M8.

Wild pigs will sell you a gutted head pipe and you can save yours in case you need to pass emissions at some point. I gutted mine less heat and not a lot of sound difference. If you want sound remove baffles and insulation in the mufflers, it will move you torque curve higher but it will sound like a Harley for sure.

I am looking to remove the cat from my 2017 Street Glide Special. Questions are 1. Since they moved the cat to the end of the header pipe, do I still need to cut the pipe to get it out, or, can it be removed with a dremel tool? 2. I worry about the 02 censor causing issues if I remove the cat. Will this be a problem sending bad readings to the bike's computer?

Do you know if they are still in business? Their facebook page has been dormant since 2009 and I just sent a email to sales@wildpigpipes.com and it was rejected.

Then why not buy a proper aftermarket catless headpipe? It will perform better and you won't have any issues or worries...

1. It is not that much louder with out the CAT
2. Unless you are running a built engine with a detailed DYNO tune it will not effect tune much
3. Removing CAT will have no effect on 02 senors. It can't That is another reason they are in front of the CAT.
4. Remove the CAT. The heat that comes from the CAT sucks. It is not that hard to do nor that expensive. If you just want to gut the stock header.
It's been done so many times.
