Default Not sure what I'm looking at

Hey guys
well from what I've read on the board is that the cat's on my custom are located in the header pipes but the dealer suggests their in the mufflers. So looking down the pipes I see this
I know it's one or the other just not sure what I'm looking at
Maybe a more experienced member might have come across this at sometime
Thx in advance
Colin

You're obviously asking the wrong guy at the "dealer"...

IF the Cat is in the muffler, it will be at the headpipe end, not the tail end of the muffler. It will look like honeycomb.

Just watched a vid on YouTube where some guy drills a 1" hole through the top on the baffle tube. It sounds good and he states the ecm has enough band to adjust for the mod , not sure about that but I'm curious to see if anyone here has opened them up with a drill just for a louder pipe note

Cut the pipe, remove the cat, & weld it. Or buy one that has been done. That little 1in hole won't make a lot of difference.

From what I've been told and don't quote me but the cat on my 17 custom lives in the mufflers.

Well they only did the mod so to speak for a better sounding exhaust not for performance.
But I was wondering with a 1" hole would the ecm have enough bandwidth to make adjustments

Removing CAt is to cut down heat . It does not effect sound that much
