Issue Installng

1 Attachment(s)
Hello guys. I installed some Arlen Ness Magna FLow Lowdowns on a 2012 Sportster 72 today.

There is one bolt where the headers go into the engine that I cannot get a wrench or socket to. The O2 sensor plug is in the way. I attached a pic. Any suggestions on what I can try? Everything else seem to fit fine.

I think you will have to sacrifice a wrench for that one.Grind down the box end and tweak it in the vice as necessary. Will be watching for other ideas,I have a Magnaflow 2-1 on the way here...

Remove the O2 sensor.

Can you get a crows foot in there?

It's not the sensor that's in the way but the part of the exhaust header where the o2 goes in

I'd try this....Loosen the other nut all the way, maybe even remove it. Then tighten the nut by the O2 sensor as tight as you can get it with your fingers. Then tighten the other nut with whatever wrench/socket you can.

How about an offset box wrench?

+1 for crow's feet!

In tight places, I've used Kobalt combination wrenches (sold at Lowe's). They have a slightly lower profile, and may fit in that tight spot. If that doesn't work, I'd say trying to make your own tool (grinding down a combination wrench).
