Default 2016 Heritage Exhaust.

I have a2016 Heritage with stock exhaust. Would like to have a little more exhaust sound, but not deafening. I am considering buying the American Custom slip ons. I understand the cat is in the mufflers on my bike. I was wondering if anyone has experience with the American Custom mufflers on the late Heritage and eliminating the cat at the same time.

I have a '17 Heritage I am looking at those mufflers as well. I was under the impression that the catalytic converters are in the long black pipe that the muffler cans mount to. I could be wrong this is my first Harley. It just seems weird that the head pipes and mufflers are inter-connected via this pipe. Also most if not all after market slip ons are a straight thru design. I would think if they had catalytic converters installed the selling price would be higher than say the 299 for the V&H straight shot slip ons. Again this is my first Harley so. I've looked all over trying to find info on this and it's a rather vague area depends a lot on year model. Some are in the mufflers others aren't. Thinking of getting a spare set to play with and see what's in them. That way if I screw up I still have a good set of stock mufflers.

I just put a set of Bassani slash cut slip-ons on a customer's '14 Heritage. We ditched the heavy stock catted mufflers and the bike sounds and looks great. The sound is not loud by any stretch, but the bike now sounds like a Harley. I highly recommend these inexpensive mufflers.
