Catless Head Pipe

Catless Head Pipe
I just ordered a modified catless OEM head pipe from BAS on Ebay for my 2012 FLHTK. Looks like a great option to help reduce heat from the cat and also reduce a bit of back pressure. Any of you picked up the header pipe with the cat removed from BAS on Ebay? If so, how do you like the change and do you notice a reduction in heat radiated from the exhaust?
And..... What new exhaust gaskets do you all recommend?
My exhaust system will consist of the catless header, a set of Cobra 909 slip on mufflers, a SE air filter that came with the bike, and a FP3 to dial it in. And that will be the end of the upgrades to the bike other than a bit more chrome.
Thanks and have a good day!

Don't know what price you're paying for the catless header. Mine was about $100
If it was a lot more I probably would have gone with V&H power duals. I did some research on what difference if any. Basically the difference is $. Yes looks are different but other than that it is the money.
Also by going catless it still looks stock

Yes, it will look stock which is fine by me. The going price is $129.99 shipped at this time, still a lot less than a Cobra or V&H's header system around $415 to $500. I saw a cheaper one on Ebay, but the welds were not as good looking and smooth after being welded again.
Hope the weather warms up so I can get this added, tuned, and get some miles under my belt!

I haven't thought about that one way or the other, however I do want a good secure weld joining the header. I would think with the backpressure of the baffles in the mufflers would help the backpressure in the entire exhaust system. The other one I saw on Ebay had big then small weld beads and to me it looked like a weld that I could do a lot better with if I still had my Lincoln 225!
