Just about to install my exhaust but I'm getting mixed reviews on which gasket to go for. The exhaust is squared not tapered but some posts on this forum say to still use the tapered oem gasket instead of the screaming eagle because the se gaskets are prone to leaking. But wouldn't a square exhaust on a tapered gasket leak anyways?

 

I use SE square on square exhausts. Sometimes 2 if the pipe goes too far into the head. I use the tapered gaskets (OE) on tapered head pipes. The OE tapered gaskets will work but sometimes get mushed with a square head pipe and intrude upon the exhaust port.

 

Recently installed the Cobra Power Port header and it seemed to be a bit more squared. I went with the SE gaskets and no leaks yet. First time removing stock gasket, installing new and it was a little unnerving as didnt want any material to break off into head, all worked out fine. Really had to tug on the oem cone gasket to get it to let go.
