Eliminator 300’s - too quiet, or too weak..
I bought and installed a set of eliminator 300’s on my M8 Fat Boy 114. I started with the quiet baffles, and found the sound ok, but a bit too quiet. I saw no performance gain, at least not that the butt Dyno felt (and that’s really what it’s about, right)?
Just for laughs, I took out the quiet baffles (which seem only to block the straight path through the pipe) and it got considerably louder. Surprisingly not too loud, but it does feel like I lost some low end torque. I won’t have that. So I’m wondering if I can drill a hole in the quiet baffle to let a bit more sound through, while retaining some of the restrictions that seem to improve the low end.
This is the baffle, and it is installed just in front of the end cap. Slips into the existing baffle. The end at the end of the perforated tube is solid. That’s where I’m thinking about drilling. Right in the center.
