Default Slip-on Mounting Help - 2002 Heritage Softail Classic

Hello All,

I have a 2002 HD Heritage Softail Classic EFI. I had Screamin’ Eagle II slip-ons that were rough so swapping out. I found a set of HD slip-on mufflers Part# 65884-09 & 65886-09. I was told they were off a fatboy and were like new in the box so I bought them. My problem is that the mounts do not match up with the muffler bracket (black bar bolted on to the frame)

Question - is it possible to get the muffler bracket that fits the muffler and swap out my current bracket? If so, having a hard time finding the part.

Or, should I get a metal man to put a mount on the slip-on mufflers that fit my current bracket?

I was hoping that I could find a bracket and swap it out.

Lastly, will I have a performance hit with the swap? I was going to take it to get tuned via computer. I just bought the bike last year and the previous owner did a Stage 2 kit but only air filter and exhast and didn’t tune it.

Thanks in advance and happy riding.

It's possible to make brackets. Same size motors, so it shouldn't effect performance. But Craigslist May have what you need with little or no modification. Don't reuse the factory muffler clamps!

is the bracket the right height just too long or short? I would think u could have it shortened or lengthened to your needs. There are a few used mounts on ebay too.
